There Once Was A Time
When Others Made Your Decisions
Now The Question Is Mine
And The Answer An Opinion

Choices Are Made
Opinions Voiced
Are You Afraid
You've Made The Wrong Choice

Chances Are Taken
Advice Put Aside
Could I Be Mistaken
Or Taken For A Ride

The Unlit Path
That I Chose To Walk
Brought Pain And Sorrow
Of Which I Shouldn't Talk

The Road Of Rebellion
Took Me Nowhere
I Ended Up Lonely
With A Heart Full Of Despair

Each Path Leads A Different Direction
Every Dream , A New Impression
Each Day , A New Destination
Every Lesson , For My Education

Upon The Path Of Patience
I Walk A Fine Line
Keeping Up My Persistence
I'm Writing All The Time

Choices Are Many
In This Day And Age
So Many Books To Read

Inanimate Objects Now Run Our Lives

No Spoken Words By The Children
Texting Each Other In The Same Room
The Personal Palm Pilot
A Diabolical Device , Promising Mankind's Doom

Perhaps School Will Soon Be On Line
We Can Learn To Take Selfies Of Ourselves
Famous In Our Own Minds
Imagining We're Someone Else

No Need To Exercise The Body
He's A War Hero On Play Station
No Need To Exercise The Mind
For They Lack Imagination

On Line , The Couch Potatoes Dream
We Can Order More Food , On Line
On Line , We Can Watch Our Favorite Teams Lose
Gaining Some More Weight , While Wasting Our Time
The American Dream Still Lives , On Line

You May Even Fall In Love On Line
Dating Sites , On Line All Night
But You Might Have To Go Off Line
For A Date With Ms Wrong Or Mr.Right

On Line Stalkers , On Line Scams
On Line Street Walkers , Perverts On Demand

We Sell Our Souls
To Get The Next On Line Sensation
Are We Losing Control
In Our Mental Masturbation

A World Full Of Machinery
Where Have All The Craftsmen Gone
Replaced By A Robot Or A Computer Chip
The Unemployment Line Is Long

Some Say Computers Make Our Lives Easier
These Would Be The Professional Time Wasters
Living Their Life On Facebook And Twitter
No One Really Cares About Your Dramatic Life
Get Over Yourselves Or Get A Babysitter

On Line , On Line , On Line... Off Line
OH NO !!!!! A Computer Crash !!!!!!
A Virus !!!!! A Hacker Stealing Debit Card Cash!!!!
You Would Think We Were In The End Times
When Your Computer Crashes Is It Out Of Line

Would You Mind If I Used My Mind

So Lets Close All The Libraries
And Burn All The Books
And Pay Homage To An Insufficient Machine
That Took Away Our Dreams
